This study is part of New York State’s initiative to eliminate Hepatitis C (HCV), funded by the New York State Department of Health. Even though effective treatment is available, the spread of HCV continues to be a problem. Injection drug use is a common way this disease is transmitted. We are conducting this research study so that we can better understand HCV and related issues among persons in Upstate NY.
Your participation will help guide the development of programs to prevent the spread of HCV and better connect individuals with HCV to treatment.
Participants get free testing for HCV and HIV, are linked to care if they have a positive result, and are compensated up to $110. Joining this study is completely voluntary, yet your time and commitment will help make a real difference in our communities.
